These terms cover what Enotee provides, how subscriptions and content work, and the limits on what you can do with the Service. They’re written to be read — not just signed.
Your agreement with us
By creating an Enotee account or using the Enotee mobile or web app (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. These terms form a binding contract between you and Enotee.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Enotee. If you’re under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf. The Service is not intended for children under 13.
Your account
- You’re responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly at hello@enotee.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
Your content
You own the recordings, transcripts, and study material you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant Enotee a limited licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely so we can operate the Service for you — for example, to transcribe an audio file or generate flashcards from a transcript.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record and upload Your Content. Don’t upload material you don’t have permission to record (for example, lectures where recording is prohibited) or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or to infringe anyone’s rights, including privacy, intellectual property, or publicity rights.
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit involving minors.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of the Service, or interfere with other users’ access.
- Reverse-engineer the Service, scrape it at scale, or use it to train competing AI models.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
Subscriptions and billing
- Enotee offers a free tier and a paid tier (“Enotee Pro”). Pricing, features, and any free-trial terms are shown in-app at the time of purchase.
- Paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from inside the app; your subscription remains active until the end of the current period.
- Payments are processed by Stripe or Paystack. By subscribing, you authorise the relevant processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may issue partial refunds at our discretion (e.g. duplicate charges, extended outages).
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. Continued use after a price change means you accept the new price; otherwise, cancel before it takes effect.
AI-generated material
Enotee uses third-party AI models (including Mistral AI and OpenAI) to generate transcripts, summaries, flashcards, and exam questions. AI output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Treat it as a study aid, not a source of truth — verify anything you rely on for coursework, exams, or other consequential decisions.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (listed in our Privacy Policy). Their availability and behaviour are outside our control, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from Settings → Account in the app. We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
On closure, your access to the Service ends and Your Content is deleted within 30 days, subject to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Enotee disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Enotee will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 50.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Enotee harmless from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Enotee is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where local law gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim where you live.
